Update | No Electricity

Hey guys, I hope all is well and okay.
Things on my side are a bit on the slower side of things
Our main transformer exploded on Friday night the 19th of June because of overload and being that it is in Soweto, it will take more than a week to be fixed and it Wednesday morning the 24th and electricity is still not up yet.
Hopefully by Friday our lights will be back on.
Taking a laptop out to a coffee shop is an option but during Covid times, who wants to risk it.
I know for sure that electricity comes back I will not be taking it for granted.

Please keep warm.

See you soon.

REVIEW | REVLON Colorstay Looks Book Eyeshadows

Soweto, South Africa

Hey GuyZies, REVLON in 2019 gave us some of the best releases when it came
to drugstore make-up
one of those gems was the *REVLON Colorstay Looks Book Eyeshadow Palettes

The claim:
5 longwearing eyeshadow palettes, each with 8 expertly matched shades in matte,
satin, shimmer and metallic finishes that wear for up to 24 hours.
and INSIDER(missing from the picture).

My Thoughts:

I won't lie when it comes to eyeshadow releases REVLON was slacking,
when it comes to their eyeshadows I remember one eyeshadow pallette
from them that came with a blush and two lipsticks, being a sucker for
REVLON products ofcoz I bought it. I will that post over HERE l
so you can see what I'm talking about.
Another eyeshadow situation from them were quads and they are still releasing them
I feel like they don't do well because they are a one eye look situation.

I'm sure they went back to the drawing board when
they came up with the 5 Colorstay Looks Book Eyeshadows because these ones look
like a collection that was curated for the everyday consumer, from
student to professional they have you covered.
Looking for a day or night look this collection has you covered.

The eyeshadow comes in mini packs however they are well pigmented, little to no fall-out
and a little goes a long way.

If you are looking for an everyday look or something brighter
these eyeshadows have you covered.

SHOP : Instore I tried looking for it online
but I'm unable to find one.

See you soon.

P.S. I have 4 eyeshadows in the picture because I gave one away.

Reviewing Last Week While Eating Pancakes

Soweto, South Africa

HeyGuzies, a little post looking back on the previous week.
I managed to post 2 YouTube videos and create 2 blogposts
I am truly happy with my accomplishment, it could have been better
however my internet decided to give up on me Friday Morning and I
spent the weekend in silence no internet and all.

The current game honestly is just to become consistent over here and
on the YouTube channel, especially with sharing stuff that is
affordable and all since a lot of people myself included need
to tighten up their belts and having to pay Cell C for the 4th time
for their faulty sim I can't deal.
Whats worst is I needed to go to the mall to gain access to have this done,
RICA and all.

Pancakes are a great meal for me when craving something sweet
because they are easy to make and they use only one egg.
Adding chocolate chips is an easy way to take them
up a notch.
The coffee, ooh well ever heard of the saying it keeps the
headaches away.
Well it does.

The recipe for the pancakes I made can be found on the following LINK.

Stay safe and warm guys.

See you soon.

Soweto, South Africa
Hey GuyZies, with the lockdown in effect doing skincare and taking care of
myself has been at the top of my list.
I received a package from Avon containing their newly
launched Vitamin C Radiance Maximising Serum because I was still using
another serum I didn't want to start using this one because the ingredients
would clash as serums carry a higher concentration to that of e.g. a day cream.

As a blog tradition, I like doing NEW IN posts like these because I get to share
what products are currently on trial and their claims
so that I can gauge what the product is all about.

The Claim

ANEW Essential Vitamin C serum delivers pure and potent stabilised Vitamin C
that stays active from the first to the last drop.

Potent 10% stabilised pure Vitamin C formula
Absorbs immediately
Non-greasy and non-sticky
Lightweight texture
Suitable for all types and skin tones
Clinically tested
Allergy tested
Dermatologist tested

retail R319 currently sells for R299 on the AVON site

My thoughts

I began using the serum last Thursday and from the first go I could tell that I will continue
using it. So far I like the packaging seems a more high end-ish, I like how it feels while using it,
I can tell that I'm going to continue using this serum and the
smell is not too bad either it smells orange-y
So far, so good.

If you are looking to start using serums, I would say let us trial
this one together.
You can read all about the serum over here

Thanks for coming through today.

See you soon.

Soweto, South Africa
Hey guys welcome back, today I'm sharing with you my top 3 favourite setting powders.
They can be found at Clicks, Dischem, Edgars and some Jet stores
also sell make-up now. At the time of writing up this article I know that Almay is currently
being sold exclusively by Dischem.

A firm favourite the *REVLON Photoready Candid in the under eye area.
The fact that it is affordable aswell is really great.
This setting powder comes in 3 different shades.

When I saw this at JET I knew I had to buy it because I don't
have anything like this in my collection, only thing similar I can think of
is the luxury banana powder which is expensive and I'm not about that.
This powder is the finest of all the 3 and sets really well
in the under eye area leaving it with that airbrush finish, the only thing
is you will need to drench your face with a good setting spray if you use a lot of this powder.
Definitely not for baking, a little here goes a long way.

When it comes to *Almay's their complexion products tends
to be a hit or a miss and the Loose Finishing powder is a hit for me.
Comes in 3 shades but these shades go a bit darker than the REVLON counterpart.
The powder will set your foundation and concealer aswell, without leaving your skin feeling dry.

As long as there is a liquid something, that goes on your face
a setting powder will need to follow.
Give the above products a chance and tell me how it goes.

Thanks for reading today's post.

See you soon.

Underneath My Wig 2020 Edition

Soweto, South Africa
My natural hair took a dive last year June when I stopped breastfeeding
and a huge chunk came off the middle
and I thought that I would save the rest of my hair my braiding it and keeping it moisturized
(well I thought wrong)
my hair just kept shedding and shedding there was not much I could do about it,
so in November I did my second big chop.

For months now my hair has been in a state of it can't be braided until March when I
did my first attempt of my Benny and Betty style 9 line came from it and I'm not complaining because I have to start somewhere.

I have a very sensitive scalp and I can no-longer have my hair braided by someone else
or I risk saying goodbye to my hairline.
I'm in a total great relief that my hair can now be braided and wigs can lay flatter.

Hope round 2 of my natural hair journey will be captured more in detail, with
more hair product reviews and all.

To more healthier hair in 2020

See you soon.

David Tlale Autumn/Winter 2020/21 Classica Icons Collection

Soweto, South Africa
I rarely feature fashion on my blog and to write up this
blogpost well it is one of those taking a leap of faith typa thing.
I mean the only two things I have in common with the David Tlale brand is the love for the color black and taking major leaps of faith like the The House of David Tlale did  Monday, April 13, when  they launched a new sustainability-friendly and
Covid-19 compliant Autumn/Winter “Fashion Trend” launch with an entirely digital agenda of content, including a fashion showcase and brand collaborations.

For the first time the fashion maestro that is David Tlale worked in partnership
with Boschendal Wines and Avon South Africa to digitally showcase his latest Autumn/Winter 2020/21 Collection titled,

The show streamed LIVE on the 13th of April on the site and also on Avon South Africa YouTube Page (LINK HERE)

Although the show went live at 19:15 it was pre-recorded the fashion show also had a great
call-to-action for the local Clothing and Textile Industry and the fashion community at large to help amplify and bring awareness to
business sustainability in South Africa, and encourage adherence to the set
 ‘National Lockdown’ regulations.

With the status of the current global health pandemic creating uncertainty around the world,
staying at home has become essential to ensuring the health and safety of
 the vulnerable in our nation.

The fashion industry, like many sectors of the economy, has taken a knock following the outbreak
of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus. This exhibition showcases the resilience
we have as a nation and gives us
the opportunity to market our rich heritage and culture.

This collection, which bears David’s signature audacious interpretation of print and design, will ensure that our customers can maintain sartorial elegance during the coming season and enhance the
earning potential for thousands of our Representatives, who are the lifeblood of our business,” says
Mafahle Mareletse, Managing Director for Avon Turkey, Middle East and Africa

I am proud of the South Africans who have committed to the lockdown regulations and through this showcase,we hope to provide our audience with a diversion from the daily stigma of negativity surrounding our lives. We hope that this collection will motivate everyone to have a positive outlook on life,be inspired and to know that “this too shall pass,” says Tlale.

Tlale also states that the “Classica Icons” Collection - created before the global Covid-19 epidemic - draws a lot of inspiration from his classic design ethos which has helped shape the
brand’s luxury and bold appeal.

Congratulations on your stunning collection David Tlale

My Biggest Blogging Obstacles

I can confidently say that I'm my own worst enemy in more ways than one.
Like Elizabeth Gilbert says in Eat Pray Love, 'I have actively participated in every decision of my life", then why do I feel so lost and so bad about it.
It could be the self-loather in me you can check
out the enneagram to find out which which personality type you are.
I'm a type 4 by the way.
Being a type 4 personality that I am, I have find it deep within myself to get out
of the self loathing state and to actually work hard on the blog and other social media's that I
have because I'm an individualist and working really hard is what I do.

Since the lockdown, I find myself doing the same task day in and out and not finding the time to
blog. The daily tasks would be cleaning, cooking, making sure the family is taken care off then cleaning again. I totally think time is there for me to blog but I'm being selfish and spending it with family and watching TV which was great until the lockdown was extended then bells
went off in my head (as in will I make it till September with the resources I have).

There was a time I could sit down 3 to 5 hours take pictures, create blogposts
and even film a few YouTube video
in one go and I would like to get back to that now since I have all the time
in the world to do it.

When I began this blog it used to be my way of escaping from the world and the world changes daily
and I now have to incorporate that because as much as the blog is an escape I'm at an age where
I can no longer escape reality which is a great thing I just need to find the balance.

If you know me personally you would know that
I'm very quite and these are some of the things that just go through my head
every now and then.

Times are changing and Time does not wait
for no man.

See you soon,

Hello Again

Soweto, South Africa
Been away for a little while on most of my social media platforms and I have been thinking of a
new direction that I would like to take going forward. The more I think the more
things change around here and the world, so far I don't know if it is for the good or not but
on my side things have just not been great (I won't bore you with the ins and outs
of my life but I will say that this social distancing dilemma just made things a little
more challenging on the personal side of things).

I have been thinking about alot and I have to say the previous year
I have been working towards the content that
I would like to produce and this isolation period that is upon us
has made it challenging but in a good way because I now get to be at home and work on the content
at a greater scale which is awesome.

The show must go on...

Being in the township during a pandemic/self-isolation time like this is really tricky but
I will get into it at detail on a post that I'm working on that is going up on Tuesday
 (please look forward to it).

My social media is dead. the last post that went up on my YouTube Channel was
in December, Instagram?! I just don't want to think about it LOL but I have to
and will be sharing more content there, but I'm tired of the overly curated feed but still love taking beautiful pictures a balance will need to be establish there.

Typing out this blogpost is therapeutic, it is like I'm in a meeting but with myself and mentality (",)
anywhooo just thought that I should come on here to say Hello Again.

I promise this time I will see you soon.

NEW IN Yardley Stayfast Foundation

Soweto, South Africa
Hey guyzies, hopefully your Friday is off to a great start.
I bought this foundation a while back and I have been meaning to use it but
I already have a lot of foundations open and this year I'm doing project pan so
I have to at least finish two bottles before opening this one.

The claim:
- For flawless matte finish
- No transfer
- Lightweight feel
- with vitamin e and amino acids to moisturise and hydrate.
- The foundation is water based

I like the claims and the shade range is not bad either, so
keep an eye out for an in-depth review on our YouTube page.

See you soon.

Eucerin Even Pigment Perfector Dual Serum Review

Soweto, South Africa
Good morning, serums are an essential part of a morning or evening routine because
of their higher concentration of product that they have, whether it being an
anti-aging or moisture adding it is the good stuff and you need it.

On todays post I will be doing a review of the
*Eucerin Even Pigment Perfector Dual Serum

The claim:
Effectively reduces dark spot and prevents their re-appearance,
with regular use. Renews skin’s look.
A dual-action serum with Thiamidol® and concentrated Hyaluronic Acid
for even and radiant skin

The product:
The serum comes in a slick transparent packaging th at gives an illusion
that the product can be seen from within.
The bottle carries two serums, Thiamidol proven to reduce dark marks, and
Concentrated Hyaluronic Acid one of skin’s most effective moisturising substances
helps skin to attract and retain moisture.

At first try the pump might not squirt out both products in one pump,
but you will need to give it a good shake then the product will
come out going forward.

The verdict:
Skincare for me is doing what is best for your skin, to prevent and reduce certain
problems that come with the everyday life whether that is fine lines,
dark marks and hyper-pigmentation
and consistency when using products is key to seeing results.
Also some products will work well for your skin and others will not and that is the catch.

The Eucerin Even Pigment Perfector Dual Serum is a great serum and a little does go along way,
I don't suffer from major hyper-pigmentaion just dark marks left by a pimple or three that and
a reduce in their appearance has been noted.
The serum is not on the major moisturising side but I suggest if you have dry skin like
me to go on and also use the Eucerin Day Cream SPF30 in this range.

Thank you for reading today's post.

See you soon.

Mommy Monday | To Potty Train! or Not To Potty Train?

Soweto, South Africa

Hey MOM, well in December when relatives were in town one of them asked how old
Asanda was and I told them 21 months and then they went on to ask,
and she is still not yet potty trained?!
Then they went on to mention to me that their kids were potty trained by 16 months
and blah blah blah blah blah blah
(that's all I heard after 16 months for real because I have decided to follow
the let my child tell me route)
and so far it is working for me.

I haven't began potty training her because she is only now grasping the
notion of mmmh I just pee'd let me tell Ma
or did a number 2 let me tell Ma, and I don't know what next week brings because
kids grow-up fast and different
and we as parents we should stop this thing of trying to one up another parent/child
because it does not get us anywhere.

Anyways hope you are having a great Monday and see you soon.

*Let us be kind to one another.

Soweto, South Africa
Happy Friday, I've been avoiding doing beauty posts for a while now
because well I haven't been feeling beautiful for a while now and you know (issues)
but the other day I went to Dischem Maponya Mall to just see whats new and happening
maybe it will get me in the mood to blog and create beauty content.

I found a NEW foundation from RIMMEL London and I won't tell you how long
it's been on the market but I haven't seen much activity on my social media
about it so I bought it.

The claim:

Long-lasting and lightweight, this ultra-comfortable powder finish formula
leaves the skin truly mattified, feeling soft and provides the perfect flawless base for you make-up.

Big claims RIMMEL, well I guess I will test that out as a first impression,
going LIVE
on the YouTube Channel soon.

Please subscribe if you haven't.

NEW IN | AVON Maxima & Maxime Fragrances

Soweto, South Africa

Hey guyzies Avon has introduced a duo of luxury male and female fragrances
that are twin-branded Maxima & Maxime, they retail for R339 for a 100ml bottle.

The fragrance has notes like the immortelle flower, the flower of eternity
whose oil promises eternal youth and olibanum,
one of the very first ingredients of perfumery.
Well I know that I just watched Gladiator the other day and if Maximus smelt like
 this I would be happy.

AVON is adding the two fragrances to their luxury portfolio and I must say that
I'm not going to fight them with this one.

Thanks for reading today's post.

NEW IN | Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream

Soweto, South Africa
Hey guyzies, like everyone else around on social media at
present is obsessed with skincare, well I caught the bug and
I'm experimenting and trying to get to know my skin more since
I'm in my 30's now.

Sleeping with make-up on and thinking that I will remain flawless and looking
glowing the following day is something I will let the teens and twenties girls do.
(p.s. please don't sleep with your make-up on it's not attractive and your pillows won't like that).

My skin is really dry and dry skin tends to be more prone to get fine lines quickly.
I love moisturizing my face and I would spend more money on
serums and moisturisers  than anything else.

I was de-cluttering my make-up stash the other week because
new year new me and I came across the Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream,
I was saving it for when my current moisturiser finishes and to tell you the truth,
I have been missing out.
This cream I have been using it for a week now and it is doing the things.

Here are some claims from the moisturiser:
medium-weight moisturizer to balance combination/dry skin.

For now, I like the packaging, and that the cream reminds me
of aqueous cream but for adults (",)
The cream is a bit on the pricey side but I tell you, it is really moisturising.
I will break it down for you in a months time, but I'm really impressed.

Thanks for reading today's post.

See you soon.

NEW IN | Epi-Max Ultra Oitment & Baby Bum Barrier Cream

Soweto, South Africa
Hey guys, I'm doing mini posts on NEW IN products this week.
Some products I have purchased others I received via PR and I'm just introducing them
to you so we can have them on trail together.

Epi-Max Ultra Ointment
Epi-Max says the following about their NEW ointment,
A therapeutic ointment for very dry, cracked skin.

I don't know if its just my baby or what?! but the baby creams are just leaving her skin feeling
soft yes but looking dry, so a little of this ointment does go a long away,
leaving her skin feeling and looking nourished.

Epi-Max  is a brand I continue to use time and time again,
and if you are looking for a barrier cream for your baby, I also suggest the
Epimax Baby Bum Barrier cream.

Thank you for coming through today.

See you soon.

Hey guyzies, with Dry-uary behind us Back To The Bar by Bacardi

Soweto, South Africa

Hey guyzies, welcome to the first review for 2020 on the blog.
The NIVEA Peel Off Urban Skin Detox Mask (Mattify) shuu such a long name,
but all the Urban Masks from NIVEA have long names so I'm not complaining.

Minute Masks
At home masks really took over from 2018 and they just get better and better,
whats even better is that they are now even more affordable and they actually work.

(Mattify Black Rice & Green Tea Extract)
Claim: Intensively cleanses and removes dirt from pores
       Reduces excess sebum and oil
       Leaves skin mattified and radiant

My Thoughts:
The NIVEA Peel Off Urban Skin Detox Mask is one product that hasn't been
over hyped and I don't know why because peeling masks are on trend and the most searched
word on the blog is peeling followed by peeling cleanser.
If you have breakouts or or skin is feeling oily this mask will help you with that
 just don't sleep on it.

Price: R99.99

Watch out for the demo video on my YouTube Channel.
